Police cuff three after high speed chase

FILE PHOTO

SALMON ARM – Two men and one woman were arrested after fleeing police in a stolen truck driving more than 140 kilometres per hour.

The truck was stolen from Revelstoke on April 11 and located shortly after midnight by police, according to a release issued today. Officers tried to stop the vehicle and the driver took off towards Salmon Arm on the Trans Canada Highway.

Police followed the suspects into a parking lot in downtown Salmon Arm. Officers boxed the vehicle in and after a short struggle the suspects, all from Revelstoke, were taken into custody.

Police say the man who is believed to be the driver is facing seven potential charges including possession of the stolen truck, flight from police, impaired driving, and breach of condition charges. He will stay in custody until a later court date.

The three may have had a hand in a Sicamous robbery in the hours before they were apprehended in Salmon Arm, according to RCMP.
