Penticton woman busted for drugs, firearm

A 44-year-old Penticton resident was arrested for illegal drug possession following a vehicle stop and a house search.

Cori Ann Mitchell of Penticton has been charged with methamphetamine and marihuana possession, unsafe firearm storage and firearm possession.

These charges came about after RCMP stopped her vehicle on March 13 on Nanaimo Avenue. Following the vehicle stop a house on the 700 block of Argyle Street was searched where more illegal drugs and a loaded rifle were found. A 34-year-old male resident of Naramata was also charged.

Mitchell was released from court on bail. She has previous drug trafficking convictions from both Penticton and Kelowna.

The male suspect was released shortly after his arrest and faces a single charge of possession of methamphetamine. He also has a previous conviction for drug trafficking in Penticton.
