Penticton teen wins national waterskiing medals

PENTICTON - Penticton’s own Aaron Leaman came home from the 2016 Canadian Barefoot Waterskiing competition as the Boys National Barefoot Champion.

He was awarded three gold medals at the event for tricks, slalom, and overall, at the August tournament held in Napanee, Ontario.

At fifteen years old, Aaron has been competitive barefooting for three years. Aaron was B.C. Junior Boys Champion in 2014 and 2015 which qualified him to attend nationals. He started barefoot skiing at the age of four with his family on Skaha Lake. Aaron is a grade 10 student at Pen-High and is a well rounded and dedicated athlete.
