PENTICTON  - The Christmas season didn’t deter thieves in Penticton as RCMP report several break and enters in the area last week.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police are investigating the theft of a Volkswagen Golf, license plate number VE0 71V,  stolen sometime between 5 p.m. Monday and noon Tuesday, on Dec. 20 from a residence on Lakehill Road in Kaleden.

A building site on Pineview Road was subject to a break and enter overnight between Dec. 21 and Dec. 22. A lock was cut on a shipping container and several $1,000 in tools were taken. The incident marked the third break-in on three different job sites for the company.

Between 1 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Dec.26, a Westview Place residence was broken into when a back basement door was pried open. Cash, jewellery and a Garmin GPS was taken. Engravings on a stolen jewellery case read, “Merry Christmas Bobbie 1991” and on another, “Hazel on your retirement.”

Police are continuing their investigation into the thefts. Anyone with information regarding these stolen items are asked to contact Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
