Penticton pizza deliveries delayed by theft

PENTICTON - There may have been a customer or two who were late in receiving their pizza last night, but thanks to Penticton and Summerland RCMP the deliveries weren't delayed for long.

Police responded to a complaint of a stolen vehicle on Papineau Street in the Peach City last night, March 21, Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Ted Manchulenko says.

They arrived on scene to find a Domino’s Pizza delivery car had been stolen while a pizza delivery was being made.

Police broadcast a description of the vehicle, which was spotted a short time later by members of the Summerlnad RCMP detachment, heading north on Highway 97.

The driver, who suffered mental health issues and was impaired at the time, surrendered without incident to police. He was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

The vehicle and its contents were returned to the owner.
