Penticton high school graduate dumped by The Bachelorette

Daniel Maguire.

PENTICTON - Daniel Maguire, the local contestant on the reality TV dating show The Bachelorette, has been dumped.

The Penticton high school and Thompson Rivers University graduate made it to the fifth episode of the popular show, but was not given a rose by bachelorette JoJo Fletcher this week and has had to leave the show. Maguire is a Vancouver-based male model and personal trainer.

After not being chosen by Fletcher during the show’s rose ceremony, which signals who the bachelorette wants to keep around, Maguire seemed to realize why he wasn’t chosen.

“She was obviously going for personality,” he said on the show after not being chosen. “If this was based solely on looks there’s a good chance I’d still be here."

Maguire, who already had a couple memorable quotes on the show, finished his appearance with one last gem.

“I’ve had more experiences than all of these guys combined.” he said. “The chances of her falling for me; I have a better chance of being struck by lightning while, you know, shaving my face.”
