PENTICTON - A sad ending for a Penticton dog and it's owner after an incident last week.

Police were called to rescue the dog’s owner on Feb. 14 after the 27-year-old woman wound up trapped in a room of the house on Birch Avenue by her Rottweiler.

The 27-year-old woman told police she was holding the door shut to keep the dog out. Police grabbed a ladder and helped the woman through a window just at the Rottweiler broke through the door and into the room.

The city says the dog’s owner surrendered the animal the next day and it was euthanized.
