PENTICTON - A Penticton business has won big at the 14th annual Small Business B.C. Awards.

Winecrush of Penticton took home the award for Best Concept at the event which took place at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver on Thursday, Feb. 23, according to a media release. The award is given to businesses operating exciting, creative and innovative businesses.

The company takes left over material from local wineries after they’ve pressed their grapes for their vintages, dehydrates and mills it into a fine powder for infusion into unique food products.

The Best Concept award comes with a $1,500 cash prize and a one year all-access pass to Small Business B.C. education resources and experts.
