KELOWNA - A pedestrian ran into a slow moving car Monday morning at the corner of Harvey Avenue and Ethyl Street.

Witnesses told police the 53-year-old man was running across the highway when he collided with an eastbound car in the left turning lane. Though traffic was slowing at the time for a red light, the left turning lane was still flowing. Apparently, the man came out from between vehicles and ran into the passenger side of a slow-moving Chevy Optra, with his head hitting the windshield.

He was rushed to hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

No charges have been laid. The investigation is ongoing.

Police are reminding pedestrians to use designated crosswalks or intersections and to make eye contact with drivers before crossing. Never assume a driver sees you.
