KELOWNA - A Peachland man arrested for a bizarre sexual assault will remain in custody until at least next week.

Shea Robert Gardecki, 39, faces two charges of sexual assault and one charge of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence stemming from an incident on Tuesday, Aug. 23. He is due for a bail hearing Aug. 29.

Police said a man entered a home on Highland Drive North and "inappropriately touched" two women who were sleeping inside. When the women woke they demanded he leave and he did, police said. He was later tracked down by a police dog, arrested and charged.

The women were not physically injured.

Gardecki has no prior criminal offences in B.C.
