Pair of Kamloops forwards to join Team WHL for CHL Canada Russia Series

CALGARY – The Western Hockey League, in association with the Canadian Hockey League, announced today that Kamloops Blazers forwards Collin Shirley and Deven Sideroff have been added to Team WHL’s roster for the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series, which begins Monday, Nov. 9 in Kelowna.

Kelowna Rockets forward Dillon Dube will miss the series after suffering an injury on Saturday night in Portland. The Rockets will be represented in the series by Nick Merkley.

Shirley is currently in his fourth WHL season and has recorded 16 points (10g-6a) in as many games. The Saskatoon, Sask. product was acquired by the Blazers in 2013 and has amassed 108 points (59g-49a) in 218 career WHL games.

Sideroff has posted five points (1g-4a) through seven games in his second full season in the WHL. For his career, Sideroff has notched 55 points (21g-34a) in 85 games played. The Summerland, B.C. native was selected in the third round, 84th overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks.

Shirley and Sideroff will replace Kelowna Rockets forward Dillon Dube and Brandon Wheat Kings forward John Quenneville who will miss the event due to injury.

Dube suffered an eye injury on Saturday night in Portland and is expected to be out of action for up to three weeks.

The 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series will begin in Kelowna on Monday, Nov. 9 at Prospera Place. The following night, Team WHL will face Team Russia at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops.
