KELOWNA - A Police check stop Saturday morning resulted in two arrests after drugs were found.
Mounties were conducting the check stop on eastbound traffic moving through Harvey Avenue at Water Street. A 32-year-old West Kelowna woman driving a black Chevy Cavalier was unable to produce a driver's licence. As police looked into the ownership of the car, they became suspicious of the woman and her male passenger.
"A search revealed 79 quarter-gram packages of meth, heroin, powder cocaine and crack cocaine as well as $175 cash and paraphernalia consistent with the trafficking of drugs," RCMP Const. Kris Clark stated in a press release.
A 32-year-old West Kelowna woman and a 32-year-old Lake Country man were both arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. They have been released for court at later date.
