PENTICTON - Patrons of the Penticton Yacht and Tennis Club will be one step closer to enjoying an alcoholic beverage outside if Penticton City council okays an application to add an exterior patio to the club’s existing liquor license.

City staff is recommending approval of the application, which would allow a patio to be constructed at the northwest corner of the clubhouse.

The license would allow up to 32 people on the patio with proposed hours of service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

A recent public consultation included a mail out to 250 property owners along Vancouver Avenue and Marina Way, with no comments received at the time of the report’s preparation.

Council is expected to ponder the issue at tonight's council meeting, July 4.

Council's decision will then be submitted to the  Liquor Control and Licensing Branch, who require input from the city prior to rendering their final decision on the matter.
