VERNON - A pair of winter athletes and a year-round community booster will be inducted into the Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame.

Two-time Olympian and snowboard cross star Drew Neilson, triple Paralympic Games sit ski medalist Josh Dueck and longtime volunteers John Topping will enter the shrine Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Village Green Hotel.

The hall of fame will also present a special tribute to the late Lew Neilson (Drew’s father), who is in the shrine for auto racing and hang gliding.

Call Ron Candy at the Greater Vernon Museum and Archives, 250-542-3142, for tickets and sponsorship information for the banquet.

The Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1982.
