Nude marcher joins Kelowna Remembrance Day parade

KELOWNA - A man in the buff tried to join the Remembrance Day parade in downtown Kelowna yesterday.

The nude male joined in near the intersection of Water Street and Bernard Avenue just before 11:30 a.m., but was promptly removed from the parade, Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a release.

"The Kelowna RCMP were vigilant in preparing for this years ceremonies," O'Donaghey says, “And although the man did not pose any threat to the public, he was quickly removed without incident and within 30 seconds by police."

O’Donaghey says the 49-year-old Kelowna man does face potential criminal charges for causing a disturbance. He was later released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 11, 2016.
