The Kelowna RCMP received a call from staff at an Electronics Boutique store this afternoon reporting a man who appeared to be armed with a gun. The employees said they recognized the handle of a gun in the suspect's pocket as he was browsing their shop. The man did not draw any weapon or make any threats to anyone before leaving the store.  Police received the report just around 12 p.m. from the EB games store located at 1575 Banks Rd. They arrived on scene and thoroughly patrolled the area.

Though no criminal act has been reported, police say they will continue to investigate the suspect at large. They are providing the following description to help identify the man:

  • Caucasian
  • Approximately 40 years old
  • Dark curly hair
  • With glasses, brown pants and a red hoodie

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. Or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.crimestoppers.net or text to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
