KAMLOOPS - Despite colliding at highway speeds, two drivers survived a crash unscathed last night.
Staff Sgt. Doug Aird with the Kamloops Rural RCMP says in a media release, officers responded to a crash on Highway 1 just after 9 p.m., Feb. 24.
He says a pickup truck clipped the front bumper of the tractor trailer before spinning across the oncoming lanes. The truck came to rest on a steep embankment facing the Tk'emlups Powwow Grounds.
At the time of the crash, there was no oncoming traffic.
“Fortunately there were no injuries in the mishap and only minor damage was caused to both vehicles,” Aird says in the release. “The driver of the pickup truck was issued a ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act for unsafe lane change."
