New Kamloops app available for smart devices

The City of Kamloops has launched its first mobile app called myKamloops™, now available for Android, Blackberry iPhone and Windows Phone markets by searching with the key word: 'myKamloops™'.

Use myKamloops™ to notify City crews and create a call for service for graffiti, potholes, fallen trees, overflowing garbage cans, vandalized signs, and other similar incidents. With myKamloops™ you can track the status of your request, or keep abreast of important news. You can even send a photo, video, or audio clip with your report.

Floods, broken water mains and other issues requiring immediate attention should be called into the City's 24 hr emergency phone number: 250 828-3461.

Using myKamloops™ to report issues

These simple tips will assist us to help you:

Provide an accurate location

When reporting an issue ensure that the location is as accurate as possible. Use your device to zoom in on the map to your "target" when placing the "blue dot marker" to indicate the issue location. When providing an address, the location could still be "off" by many meters. For best results, zoom and drag the blue marker as accurately as possible to report an issue's location.

Provide a short description

myKamloops™ allows you to send a photo, video, or audio recording. This may not be enough to describe the issue or its location. To pinpoint your concerns, provide a short description. Here are a few samples:

  • "50 feet from the pedestrian bridge"
  • "pedestrian sign missing, only stub remaining"
  • "streetlight not working"

Personal Setting

myKamloops™ requires that you provide a name and email address. This allows us to contact you in the unlikely event that we need more information about your report.

Anonymous Setting

If you wish to remain anonymous then use either the 'Anonymous Posting' setting or enter a fictitious name and email address (located under the More tab > Settings).

Keeping track is easy, issue reports can be accessed within the myKamloops™ app.
