A Summerland couple in their 50s were arrested on Tuesday after a search warrant was conducted for theft of hydro and an illegal marijuana grow operation.

SUMMERLAND - RCMP arrested two persons and removed 685 marijuana plants during a search of a Summerland residence on Tuesday.
RCMP Sgt. Stephane Lacroix said an officer conducted a search warrant for alleged hydro theft and for an illegal marijuana grow operation at a home on Cartwright Avenue. Two residents, a man and woman in their 50s, were arrested.
Lacroix said the RCMP has had no issues with the couple in the past and they were released later that day.
The officer declined to comment on the RCMP's investigation leading to the arrests. He said there were multiple sources of information involved.
