Mom catches up to tech-savvy kids thanks to Infotel

Law firm receptionist Gillian Ciunyk of Penticton is the Infotel grand prize winner of Microsoft Surface Pro 2.
December 10, 2013 - 8:26 AM

PENTICTON - Her kids told her to get "with the times" and so Gillian Ciunyk did just that with a shiny new tablet.

The Infotel prize winner of a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 was all a-twitter over the shiny black rectangle she pulled out of its box at her place of employment, the law firm of Albas-Wahl.

"They say I'm old fashioned and 'I gotta get with the times'," she said about her children teasing her for not spending more time online.

The receptionist said she's not on Facebook and only uses the Internet as a source for recipes. This chef has made many dashes back and forth from her kitchen to the computer to check how many scoops of flour or sugar a particular dish required.

She won't have to dash anymore as the touch-screen tablet comes with a stand so it can be propped up on the kitchen counter. The powerful machine is a desktop computer in tablet form and comes with a front and back camera and a 10.6 inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1080.

Ciunyk said this is the biggest thing she's won. She's already a winner of various Infotel dinner giveaways and has won a few Vancouver radio contests. She plans on signing up for the next Infotel contest, a $1,000 holiday cash prize giveaway.
