A minor earthquake occurred in the South Okanagan at 3:40 a.m. this morning, Oct. 13, 2016. The quake was reportedly felt in Penticton and Okanagan Falls.

PENTICTON - Did you feel the earth move in the South Okanagan this morning?
Natural Resources Canada Earthquake seismologist John Cassidy says a 1.8 magnitude earthquake registered southwest of Penticton this morning, Oct. 13, at 3:40 a.m. Earthquakes Canada has received one report of the quake being felt from a resident in Okanagan Falls.
A Facebook posting by Laurane Nash of Penticton also noted the quake. She reports hearing a loud bang.
