Friday evening you can take in a Western Canada Theatre performance of The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. The adaptation from the novel by C.S. Lewis will play now through Dec. 22 for a total of only a dozen showings in Kamloops.

The daily event runs from 5-9 p.m. through Jan. 5 (except Christmas Day) and features thousands of lights, Uncle Chris the Clown, a laser light show, the miniature train, a maze, bonfires to enjoy treats and warm up around and a visit with Santa through Christmas Eve.

On Saturday one of the last craft fairs of the season will take place at St. Andrews on the Square from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at the BIG Little Science Centre you can watch as science demonstrations at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. attempt to provide a possible explanation for Santa's magic.

From 2 to 4 p.m. a free Skate with Santa will take place at Brock Arena and at 5:30 p.m. the CP Holiday Train will roll into Kamloops with a stop at the north side of Interior Savings on Lorne St. Melanie Doane and Matt Dusk are set to perform and everyone is encouraged to donate food or money for the local food bank.

The last few runs and activities, the West Bowl T-Bar, bungee trampoline and tube park, Sun Peaks will be opening Saturday and Santa will be on hand to help celebrate the full opening of the resort during the annual Alpine Visit. Special activities including free maple taffy made in the snow, a restaurant sampler tour, storytelling and pictures with Santa will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. and an urban rail jam will also take place outside of 5Forty starting at 3:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra presents Christmas with the KSO at Sagebrush Theatre.

The Kamloops Storm will host Summerland on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sicamous at 5 p.m. Sunday at McArthur Island Arena.
