A masked robber demanded cash from a West Kelowna bank before fleeing in a truck bearing stolen plates.

West Kelowna RCMP say the robbery took place yesterday at 12:50 p.m. at the Scotiabank located at 2475 Dobbin Rd. and came on the heels of a report of a stolen, blue Mazda pickup truck taken from a residence on the 3300 block of Grouse Rd.

Police say the owner's son took the truck earlier that day without permission. The man committing the robbery drove off in a blue Mazda pickup truck bearing the plates registered to the previously stolen vehicle.

The suspect then returned to the residence with the stolen truck and fled in a different vehicle. Both trucks have since been recovered and police believe the suspect maybe headed towards Manitoba.

No weapon was produced and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as:

- aboriginal

- 26 years old

- 5'11" and 176 pounds

- brown eyes

- orange mohawk

- possibly with a goatee

The suspect is known to police and known to be violent.
