Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (13,368.24, down 56.95 points):

Telesta Therapeutics Inc. (TSX:TST). Health-care. Up 11.5 cents, or 48.94 per cent, to 35 cents on 7.1 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Down four cents, or 3.01 per cent, to $1.29 on 5.8 million shares.

Canadian Oil Sands Ltd. (TSX:COS). Oil and gas. Down 49 cents, or 5.56 per cent, to $8.33 on 3.7 million shares. A lawyer for Suncor Energy (down 14 cents, or 0.38 per cent, to $36.28 on two million shares) said the Alberta Securities Commission should overturn an extended deadline for shareholders of Canadian Oil Sands to decide whether to accept its proposed takeover bid. David Tupper also warned that COS's share price risks dropping significantly because Suncor will not extend its $4.5-billion offer, which is set to expire next Friday.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Down four cents, or 2.76 per cent, to $1.41 on 2.4 million shares.

Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Miner. Down 20 cents, or 3.51 per cent, to $5.50 on 2.3 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Down 32 cents, or 6.25 per cent, to $4.80 on 2.2 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Valener Inc. (TSX:VNR). Utilities. Up 18 cents, or 1.07 per cent, to $17 on 24,773 shares. Valener Inc. raised its quarterly dividend as it reported annual profit was up from a year ago. The publicly traded affiliate of natural gas distribution company Gaz Metro says it will start paying a quarterly dividend of 27 cents per share in January, up from 26 cents.
