Most actively traded companies on the TSX

Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (15,125.67, down 3.33 points):

B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Up seven cents, or 3.11 per cent, to $2.32 on 9.9 million shares.

Merus Labs International Inc. (TSX:MSL). Biotechnology. Down 46 cents, or 22.33 per cent, to $1.60 on 6.8 million shares.

RB Energy Inc. (TSX:RBI). Miner. Down 0.5 of a cent, or 2.94 per cent, to 16.5 cents on 4.6 million shares.

Twin Butte Energy Ltd. (TSX:TBE). Oil and gas. Down two cents, or 1.23 per cent, to $1.60 on 4.2 million shares.

Veresen Inc. (TSX:VSN). Oil and gas. Down 62 cents, or 3.61 per cent, to $16.55 on 3.9 million shares.

Legacy Oil + Gas Inc. (TSX:LEG). Oil and gas. Down two cents, or 0.32 per cent, to $6.23 on 3.1 million shares.

Tim Hortons Inc. (TSX:THI). Restaurants. The company expects the US$11-billion takeover of the company by fast-food chain Burger King will go ahead despite rule changes by the U.S. government to curb mergers that would lower tax payments in that country. The U.S. Treasury Department has unveiled regulations focused on lowering the financial benefits of so-call "inversion deals," which often involve American companies buying a corporation in another country with a lower tax rate, and then shifting its headquarters to that location.
