A man wanted in connection with an armed home invasion that occurred Halloween night in Kelowna has been arrested for outstanding warrants in Surrey.

Matthew Scott Stewart, 29, was arrested Jan. 10 without incident by the Surrey and Kelowna RCMP.

Police say Stewart and a second man, Keven Graham entered a home on the 1300 block of Belaire Avenue with guns and threatened a woman who escaped and called 911. When Mounties responded, they tracked the men to a nearby house and made arrests. Graham was taken into custody Nov. 1 but Stewart managed to evade police.

Stewart remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Surrey provincial court Jan. 18. He faces break and enter and weapons charges.
