VERNON – Emergency room staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital had a terrible surprise early yesterday morning when a man drove a stolen car right through the front doors.

No one was injured but there was a lot of damage, according to an RCMP media release.

RCMP say a man drove a car, stolen from Winnipeg, into the emergency room entrance on Sunday, July 23 at about 4:35 a.m.

Officers arrived and found the stolen green Chevrolet Cruze empty with stolen B.C. licence plates attached.

Hospital staff told police the man behind the wheel got out, smashed a window and broke into an office on hospital property. That's were police arrested their suspect.

Christian Talbot, 44, of Thunder Bay, Ont. was remanded in custody and is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime.
