Ontario man charged after running himself over backing down driveway

SCUGOG, Ont. - A 25-year-old Ontario man is recovering after running himself over with a car.

Durham regional police say the incident occurred Saturday evening in Scugog Township, northeast of Toronto, when the man backed down a driveway.

They say he left the door open and fell out of the driver's seat.

Investigators say the vehicle ran over his leg before hitting two mailbox posts.

The man was treated in hospital and released.

A Kawartha Lakes, Ont., man is charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit.
