Man killed in Joe Rich ATV rollover

A 61-year-old Kelowna man died when he rolled his ATV on a trail south of Highway 33 at Falcon Ridge Crescent in Joe Rich Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014.

KELOWNA – The 61-year-old Kelowna man killed when he rolled his ATV in the Joe Rich area late Wednesday afternoon wasn’t wearing a helmet.

RCMP received a call from B.C. Ambulance shortly after 5 p.m. about an ATV crash on a trail south of Highway 33 at Falcon Ridge Crescent.

“A couple of men were riding their quads when one overturned onto the driver who was unfortunately not wearing a helmet,” Const. Kris Clark says. “He was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The RCMP continue to assist the B.C. Coroners Service with the investigation.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
