Looking for a forever home; Kamloops SPCA pet of the week

KAMLOOPS - Momma G is beautiful lady who was trapped as a pregnant feral cat.

She was the matriarch of her feral colony and had managed to evade traps for a couple of years. During this time, she produced a few litters before she was finally trapped.

Once in the care of the SPCA she went to live in foster to have her kittens in a safe environment and, hopefully, learn to trust humans. Momma G delivered and raised her babies who have all now found loving homes.

It's time to find a special match for Momma G!

Momma G has come a long way from the feral pregnant cat that arrived at the fosters house. She learned to trust them to help her care for her babies, but is still timid and shy, especially with men. She needs a quieter home, likely without children, and a human companion who understands the great strides she has made to become socialized.

A confidant cat companion, male would probably be best, would also be a good way for Momma G to gain confidence in her new home. Once Momma G understands that she can trust you (and a little cooked turkey helps a lot), she will allow you to pet her and possibly, even play with a toy on a string.

She has had her own bedroom while in foster, a little distanced from normal activity of a busy home, but has slowly started to come out and explore the house as a whole. It will likely take a little time for Momma G warm up to her new human, but we sincerely hope we can find the perfect match for this sweet girl.

If you are interested in meeting Momma G you can contact the Kamloops & District Branch of the BC SPCA at 250-376-7722, or visits 1211 8th Street. As Momma G is in foster, meets will be by appointment with approved applicants.

Momma G's Animal ID is 405565.

Visit the Kamloops Branch webpage for more information such as location, adoption fees, and hours of operation.
