Lightly felt earthquake shakes Penticton

Earthquakes Canada reported a 1.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Okanagan just south of Penticton this afternoon, Monday, Jan. 25, 2016.

PENTICTON - Did you feel the rumble?

According to data from Natural Resources Canada Earthquakes Canada website, a 1.9 magnitude earthquake briefly shook the Okanagan just south of Penticton.

Earthquakes Canada reports it was lightly felt in Penticton, while a resident in Kaleden reported hearing an unusual sound, not unlike an explosion, more than actual shaking.

The earthquake occurred at 2:38 p.m., Monday, Jan.25.
