Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation’s Light a Bulb Campaign has reached $122,664, raising 49% of its $250,000 goal.

“We are very thankful to have the support of many generous and community-minded organizations, businesses and individuals who want to help make health care better for North Okanagan residents,” said Campaign Chair Kevin Arbuckle.

Some of the generous donors contributing to Light a Bulb include the Armstrong/Spallumcheen Health Care Auxiliary, H & L Glass, Coldstream Women’s Institute and Vernon Silver Star Quilters.

Light a Bulb is raising funds for high definition camera heads and control units for four operating rooms at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.  The new equipment will provide the surgical team at VJH with the tools to perform minimally invasive surgical and diagnostic procedures.

“The equipment will be used for general surgery, orthopedics, ENT and gynecology,” said Arbuckle.

To make a secure donation online, please visit vjhfoundation.org or mail your cheque attention VJH Foundation, 2101-32nd Street, Vernon BC V1T 5L2.
