Landlord stabbed serving eviction notice

A landlord was stabbed this morning while attempting to evict a resident of an apartment on Rosemead Ave.

RCMP say the 55-year-old Kelowna man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police received the report around 10:50 a.m. 

The landlord and a Bailiff came to the apartment to hand the tenant an eviction notice. There was a dispute between the landlord and the tenant and the landlord was stabbed. The 55-year-old was taken to hospital.

 

A 33-year-old man Kelowna man was taken into custody and police have recovered a weapon.

 

Two others were initially arrested at the scene but have since been released without charges.

 

The 33-year-old Kelowna man faces a potential charge of assault with a weapon/causing bodily harm. He has been held to attend Court on Thursday.
