Kelowna Rockets reduce Tri-City to rubble in 5-1 win

KELOWNA - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Tri City Americans 5-1 on Wednesday night at Prospera Place in a dominating performance in its fourth straight win.

Five different players scored in the victory as the Rockets improved to 47-8-0-4 on the season.

Tyrell Goulbourne, Myles Bell, Nick Merkley, Cole Linaker and Mitch Wheaton had the Rockets goals as the team outshot Tri-City 51-16.

The Americans managed only a late goal in the third byRodney Southam, spoiling Jordon Cooke's bid for a shutout.

Kelowna will now head to Prince George for two games this weekend as they kick off a stretch of three straight games against the Cougars.

The Rockets and Cougars will also meet next Tuesday at Prospera Place.
