KENT, Wash. - The Kelowna Rockets and the Seattle Thunderbirds go head-to-head in game five of the 2017 WHL Western Conference Championship tonight.

With the best-of-seven playoff series tied at two games apiece, the Rockets are looking to pull off a road victory tonight, April 28, in Kent, Washington at the ShoWare Center.

“It’s about starting the game with focus and making sure we’re ready to play,” Rockets head coach Jason SmithSmith says in a media release. “We played a simpler game Wednesday night where we didn’t turn the puck over very many times, and we were creating opportunities in front of their net by having a net front presence.”

The Rockets beat the Thunderbirds 4-2 in Wednesday in game four of the playoffs at Prospera Place.

Rockets forward Nick Merkley has set a franchise record for playoff points with the goal and assist in the game Wednesday, passing previous record holder former Rocket Tyson Baillie.

No matter which team wins tonight, they will return to Kelowna for game six on Sunday night, April 30.
