Kelowna Rockets double up on Hurricane in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE - The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-3 on Friday night, Jan. 30, in Lethbridge improving to 2-0-0-1 on its four game road trip.

Leon Draisaitl had two goals and one assist in the win while Gage Quinney also scored twice for the Rockets, who improved to a WHL-best 38-8-3-1 on the season.

Rookie Michael Herringer earned the win in net and made some big saves early in the game, before the Rockets exploded for three quick goals to take a 4-0 lead in the first period.

Justin Kirkland had a goal and two assists for the Rockets while Madison Bowey also scored. Tyson Baillie and Rourke Chartier chipped in with two helpers apiece

The Rockets outshot the Hurricanes 51-25.

Kelowna will finish its four game road trip Saturday night, Jan. 31, in Cranbrook when they take on the Kootenay Ice.

The Rockets are back on home ice next weekend when they play Kamloops on Friday, Feb. 6 at Prospera Place as part of a home and home series between the two teams.
