Kelowna Chiefs make a trade

KELOWNA - Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs making some roster changes.

The team has traded defenceman Kyle Clayton to the Nelson Leafs in exchange for 19 year old forward Matt Naka.

Naka is entering his third season with the KIJHL and arrived in Kelowna on Friday.

The 5’10, 180lbs Vanderhoof native has two goals and three assists in just 10 games with the Leafs this season.

Coincidentally the Kelowna Chiefs and Nelson Leafs will face off at Rutland Arena on tonight, Saturday October 26th.

In other moves, Brett Yungen has decided to leave the Chiefs this year due to personal reasons while Marshall Sidwell is no longer with the team as he awaits surgery on his hand.
