KELOWNA - Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs earned a victory at home Friday night.
The Chiefs defeated the Princeton Posse 4 – 3 at Rutland Arena.
Kelowna dominated the first period, scoring three goals, two of them courtesy of leading scoring Nick Josephs (2G, 1A).
Nicholas Kovacik (1G, 1A) would also net one in the first at 1:30.
The second period was pretty tame with Ryan Baim scoring for Kelowna. Princeton would get on the board thanks to Bryan Kromm to make the game 4 – 1.
Things went downhill for the Chiefs during the final 20 minutes of play with Princeton taking control. The Posse would score two in the final 10 minutes of play but it wasn’t enough for the win.
Tyler O’Donnell earned the win in net facing 41 shots. Friday night’s game also marked the return of Kelowna Chiefs Captain Jordan Salahor who has been out with an injury since the season opener.
Next up for the Kelowna Chiefs is a road game in Chase against the Heat on Saturday November 23rd.
