Kelowna Chiefs downed by Storm in Kamloops

It was a penalty fueled match-up between the Kelowna Chiefs and Kamloops Storm Saturday night in KIJHL action.

The Chiefs suffered a 5–3 setback and racked up 49 penalty minutes in the process.

The game was scoreless in the first but Braeden Cyra was able to net the first goal of the match-up at 15:34 in the second.  Kamloops went on to net four power play goals in the period and Kelowna trailed 4–2 heading into the second.

Jagger Bowles scored in the third period for Kelowna to shorten the gap but the Storm rallied for an empty netter with :30 seconds left for the 5–3 win.

Tyler O’Donnell faced 48 shots between the pipes in the loss that puts an end to the Chiefs four game win streak.

The Kelowna Chiefs road swing continues next weekend for a Valentine’s Day match-up against the Summerland Steam on Friday, February 14th.
