Kelowna Chiefs doubled up on Osoyoos

OSOYOOS - The Kelowna Chiefs were doubled up 4-2 in Osoyoos Saturday night.

The Coyotes scored two goals in the first period, one from Aaron Azevedo and the other by Liam Neary.

Braeden Cyra netted the Chiefs first goal in the second period with :59 seconds left while Jagger Bowles and goaltender Tyler O’Donnell assisted.

Kelowna trailed the Coyotes 3-1 heading into the third and final period. Jackson DeMatos added the game winner at 18:29 for Osoyoos. Kelowna scored once more on the power play off the stick of Bowles before the game was over but it wasn’t enough and the Chiefs suffered a 4-2 loss.

Despite the defeat, Kelowna remains in first place of the Okanagan Division in the KIJHL.

The Kelowna Chiefs will play their final home game on Friday, February 21st against the Summerland Steam. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
