KELOWNA - A dominating victory for Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs.

Kelowna easily defeated the Revelstoke Grizzlies 8 – 4 at Rutland Arena on Saturday night.

The Chiefs took control of the first period, scoring five goals within the first 20 minutes of play.

Opening up scoring was Dylan Jamieson (2G) followed by Brady Mende (2G, 1A).  Kelowna wouldn’t slow down with Jamieson adding his second of the night at 7:59.

Nick Headrick (2G, 1A) would add one on the power-play at 4:40 while Mende would close out scoring in the first period with his second goal.

Revelstoke controlled the second period, getting on the board at 9:10 but not before Headrick would kick things off with his second of the game.

Jagger Bowles (1G, 1A) would score before the end of the second period along with Devon Hascarl of the Grizzlies.

During the final 20 minutes of play, the Chiefs would switch out goaltenders, giving starter Tyler O’Donnell a break and allowing AP Nick Crowder to make his KIJHL debut.

Crowder would let two in during the third period including one from former Chiefs player Tre Mason.  Solidifying the victory for the Chiefs was Austin Fisher who scored his first KIJHL goal.

The victory makes it four straight wins for the Kelowna Chiefs who lead the Okanagan Division with 29 points.

Up next for the Chiefs is a road game to Osoyoos on Wednesday November 6th followed by a stop in Armstrong to face the North Okanagan Knights on Friday November 8th.

The Kelowna Chiefs are back at Rutland Arena on Saturday November 9th to welcome the Summerland Steam.
