Kamloops road construction winding down

Construction work on Overlanders Bridge.

KAMLOOPS – In two weeks time the Overlanders Bridge project should be complete with the remaining road construction projects wrapped up by early November. 

Overlanders Bridge

Crews continue to work on the east side of the bridge. Waterproofing is scheduled to take place this coming week with paving scheduled for the week of Oct. 26; weather permitting.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised that the Fortune Drive overpass will be closed Sunday, Oct. 18, starting at 7 a.m. to allow for electrical work.

Crews continue to remove west side scaffolding at night.

All southbound passenger vehicles traveling downtown continue to be detoured through the temporary bypass off the south west ramp.

The webcam feed at the south end of the bridge is temporarily down to allow for electrical work.

12th Street Reconstruction

Crews continue landscaping and boulevard restoration work. Residents can expect intermittent single lane, alternating traffic.

Aberdeen Drive

On Saturday, Oct. 17, crews will pave the west bound lane of Aberdeen Drive; weather permitting.

Concrete work on the east bound lane will be completed this week, with paving from Van Horne Drive to the Kamloops-Princeton Highway scheduled for later in the week.

Road works on the left turn bay at the intersection of Aberdeen Drive and Van Horne Drive is scheduled to start Monday, Oct. 19.

Crews will conduct repair work on the Aberdeen Drive water main at Van Horne Drive on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and Wednesday, Oct. 21, starting at 9 a.m. Water supply to the reservoir will be shut down for up to eight hours and residents and businesses located south of Hugh Allan Drive in Aberdeen will have limited water. Residents are urged to minimize water consumption.

Dallas Drive

Motorists can expect single lane, alternating traffic between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
