Kamloops police, school officials continue to investigate secondary school threat

KAMLOOPS - After a threat was made at a Kamloops high school this week, police officers and school officials are trying to figure out who may be behind it.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says officers and school officials are still trying to figure out who may have written the threat.

The threat was found on a bathroom mirror in Westsyde Secondary School on Monday, Sept. 18. Police limited entry into the school after the threat was found, but what the threat said hasn't been disclosed.

Shelkie says school liaison officers are making extra patrols at the high school.

"All schools within (School District 73) have safety protocols established and regularly review and practice them in case of emergencies," Shelkie says.
