Kamloops Long Blades to Attend BC Long Track Championships

Kamloops, BC - Speed Skaters from the Kamloops Long Blades are attending the BC Long Track Championships in Dawson Creek this weekend,  January 21 and 22.

Fifteen KLB skaters will being competing for their age group championships. The best youth skaters between 11-15 will be attempting to qualify to attend the Canadian Long Track Championship being held in Edmonton in February.

On January 28 and 29th Kamloops Long Blades will be hosting the Train to Train Western Circuit #2 Short Track Speedtacular Competition. This competition is being sponsored by ViaSsport and Fraser Financial.

The best girls and boys from 9 to 15 years old from across BC and Alberta will be attending.

In addition on Saturday. January 28 the 6th Annual Coyote Cup will be hosted by the Kamloops Long Blades for skaters 3 to 12 years old.

Admission to watch is free.

Also, on Saturday, January 28th, there will be a tribute to Kamloops’ Olympian Jessica Hewitt.  There will be an unveiling of a commemorative plaque honoring Jessica’s accomplishments and contributions. The ceremony will take place at 5pm on the Olympic rink concourse.
