Kamloops in store for rainy weekend

Storm clouds roll over Kamloops.

KAMLOOPS - Yesterday was our first glimpse at thunderstorms, with thunder and lightning starting to roll through the valley mid-afternoon, and today we could see more, along with rain for much of the weekend.

Environment Canada is calling for showers or thunderstorms today, April 22, followed by a chance of rain tomorrow and periods of rain Sunday.

Along with the precipitation, the weather office is forecasting a high of 19 Celsius today and temperatures cooling off to below the seasonal normal of 18 C by the end of the weekend. A low of only 12 C is expected tonight with overnight lows cooling to near seasonal normals of 4 C by Sunday night.

The cooler weather and rain comes after a week of above normal temperatures which included a couple days of record-breaking weather
