On Sunday, April 28th, the 16th Annual Daily News Boogie will begin and end in the downtown core of Kamloops. The “Boogie Route Committee” wishes to advise motorists that there will be temporary road closures in the following areas on Sunday between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm:

Victoria St. between 1st and 5th Avenues
1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Avenues between Seymour St. and Lansdowne St.
Inside travel lanes of Victoria St. W.
Inside travel lanes of the Overlander Bridge
Fort Avenue, Larch Avenue and Baker Street will be closed to all traffic from Fortune Drive between the hours of 8:00 am to 12:00 pm; all other local road access will be maintained throughout the event. The City recommends using the signalized intersection at Fortune Drive and Nelson Avenue for access to these areas.

Motorists are strongly recommended to use the Halston Bridge to avoid delays. Please use caution when driving in the vicinity and obey all traffic control devices and traffic control personnel. The Boogie Route Committee and City of Kamloops appreciates your cooperation and encourages everyone to come out and cheer on the Boogie Goers!

New for 2013, the 10km and 21km runners will return via York Avenue, Kemano Street and Patricia Avenue before returning to Schubert Drive.

Boogie participants can also show their race bibs to bus drivers and receive free rides on local transit on race day!

For further information please call 250-828-3392.

The Boogie Route Committee would also like to send a special “Thank You” to the North Shore residents particularly in the Larch and Fairview Avenues neighbourhood for their continuous support with events such as these!
