It will warm up in the Okanagan as the week wears on

OKANAGAN - Clouds and showers kick off the week in the Okanagan, but things will start to turn around on Wednesday with a return to the hot weather by Thursday.

Environment Canada is calling for a mix of sun and cloud today, Aug. 8, with a 40 per cent chance of showers and the risking of an afternoon thunderstorm. The mercury will rise to around 24 Celsius today, which is below the normal high of 27 C for this time of year. Expect an overnight low of around 12 C.

It will be mainly cloudy tomorrow with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of about 24 C. The temperature will drop to 16 C overnight.

Back to a mix of sun and cloud Wednesday, with a high of 25 C.

The forecast calls for sunshine and highs around the 30 C starting Thursday and through the rest of the week into the weekend.
