POLITICIANS TO MEET ON MISSING AND MURDERED ABORIGINAL WOMEN
Several premiers and aboriginal leaders meet with two federal cabinet ministers today about what action can be taken on missing and murdered aboriginal women. There have been calls for a national inquiry into the nearly 1,200 aboriginal women who have been killed or gone missing in the last 30 years, but Prime Minister Stephen Harper has steadfastly refused to order one.

LEGAL ARGUMENTS TO BE MADE AGAINST CONVICTED PONZI SCHEMERS
A Calgary court will hear sentencing arguments today against two men convicted of fraud and theft charges. Milowe Brost, 61 and Gary Sorenson, 71, were found guilty earlier this month. Police say 2,000 investors around the world lost between $100 million and $400 million. Many lost their life savings, retirement plans, even equity in their homes.

VIA RAIL TERROR TRIAL WINDING DOWN
Two men accused of plotting to derail a passenger train travelling between Canada and the U.S. chose not to call any evidence or witnesses in their defence at their trial, clearing the way for the case to wrap up in the coming days. Crown lawyers have spent nearly four weeks presenting their case against Raed Jaser and Chiheb Esseghaier, who face multiple terror-related charges in the alleged plot targeting a train travelling from New York to Toronto. Both suspects did not plan to mount a defence.

COURT TO SENTENCE WOMAN WHO GAVE BUTT INJECTIONS
A judge will sentence a Toronto-area woman today who used silicone for illegal buttock enhancement injections on nine women. Marilyn Ely Reid, 48, pleaded guilty last month to eight counts of aggravated assault endangering life. She was arrested in 2012 after police say a woman fell ill after receiving alleged Botox injections and underwent surgery to have the substance removed.

TWO CHILDREN BELIEVED MISSING AFTER QUEBEC HOUSE FIRE
Two children were believed missing on Thursday evening after a house fire in Gracefield, Que, about 90 kilometres north of Ottawa. Quebec provincial police said two adults and one child escaped the blaze and were taken to hospital for shock and smoke intoxication. By early Friday, police had no information on the fate of the two children.
