Homeowner caught off guard by intruder

Penticton RCMP are looking for a robbery suspect in connection to a home invasion on Saturday.

RCMP are looking for a man in connection to a Saturday robbery at an Acacia Crescent residence.

At about 6 a.m. a homeowner was confronted by an unknown man inside the attached garage of the home. The homeowner told police he was awoken by suspicious noises. The owner looked outside his front door and didn't see anything or anyone. The home owner then checked inside his garage, where he was confronted. The suspect demanded money then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash which was handed over by the homeowner. Officers and a police service dog team arrived on scene shortly after.

No one was located at that time and the investigation into the incident is continuing. The man is described as 5'6" to 5'8", with a small build and wearing dark clothing.

Investigators with the Penticton Regional General Investigation Section are seeking public assistance with this incident and ask that anyone who may have seen anything or anyone suspicious to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300. Those wishing to provide information anonymously can do so by calling Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
