VERNON - There are a few closures and changes in regular hours to be aware of over the Christmas break in Vernon.

City Hall will be closed at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and all day Dec. 25 and Dec. 28. It will return to regular open hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for City Hall and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for operations) Dec. 29 to 30, then close again at 2 p.m. Dec. 31 and all day Jan. 1. Normal hours return Jan. 4.

Service B.C. is closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

The Vernon Aquatic Centre is closed Christmas Day but open on New Year's, as is the Greater Vernon Recreation Centre fitness gym. There are some closures and schedules to be mindful of for skating and other recreation centre programs, and you’re advised to check online for full details.

The Vernon library will be closed from Dec. 23 to Jan 1. Regular hours resume Jan. 2.

Thank you to infoNEWS.ca reader Teresa Durning Harker for pointing out that we missed the Vernon Visitor Centre, which will be closed Dec. 25 and 26, and Jan. 1. Aside from those closures, the centre will be open for its regular hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday throughout the holiday season.
